actually . . . no - they were forwarded to us in an email. We posted them, along with a cite. Planet Hiltron was credited - what else do you want us to do? Call up Planet Hiltron and say hey “We think it would be funny if you made a collage of your celeb photos and titled the post something to make fun of hillbillies . . . ”
The way we framed and set up the piece was directly from an email forwarded to us - should we apologize that we posted it on the blog and it went popular on digg? Why don’t people just chill out - we gave the credit, so why get your panties up you ass?

Having been born and raised in Oklahoma, and now living in New York City for over 20 years, I know the best of both worlds. I also just got back from visiting. Oklahoma from Christmas to Valentine’s Day. So with that stated, I’ll also add that for years I’ve worked as a make up artist and stylist. With all that, I’d say you got it right on 100%. Brilliant!

Being as I was born and raised in OKC but have went to UCLA, lived in Boston and lived overseas…I think I am somewhat justified in saying that these pictures are spot on. However, I will say that those people aren’t your everyday Oklahoman. Just like the pooka shell necklace wearing, frosted tip spikey haired, board shorts and rainbow sandals aren’t every Cali guy. Or the gold chain, greasy hair guy named Bruno from Jersey is the norm.

That is sooooooo low. Slimy even. I completely missed the tiny line at the end acknowledging the source until I found it here in the comments.

I do live in CA. Funny, I was struck by how these folks could be our Central Valley Dwellers- they look like people from Fresno, Modesto, Bakersfield. You really can find people like this anywhere- it’s what people look like without the time and money to have a hired style team. As for your morgage comment… meh, can’t really argue cuz I’m not a home owner for that reason. But hate on us all you want, and maybe our feelings will get hurt so bad that the drugs won’t work anymore, and everyone will be too depressed to work, and there goes a major chunk of the US economy.
Never have understood the CA hate. I’m betting the folks you encountered were recent transplants. They eventually chill out- once the drugs kick in, of course. I think they still hand out scripts at the state line and airports.

These were a SCREAM.
